This may say a little the same as kingpinzs idea, but i had this for a long time. What if we were to recreate the internet: 1) For IE type browsing... Internet 2! - no porn -no warez -nothing illegal -just information sites -companies -everything useful -nothing stoopid There''d be a huge demand for it, and server admins could keep tabs on what sites had what on them (or allowed) This has so much potential, but can''t do it alone! We could also eliminate the need for crappy long adresses! 2) For advanced (or for fun) A 3D engine environment, where one starts in a virtual city where you can actually buy stuff (like on a website). You could also go to a gaming building, and play against others whom are also online. You can see everyone who''s online (with an optional invisibiliy) and talk to them, like the real world. You would also have your own allocated space where you could build your own house, building or whatever fit into it. People were saying how it would need infinite space, but think for a moment. What if all textures almost ever needed would be installed on your HD, and then when something is built, the server then holds a file with X,Y,Z coords of a polygon/object, and the textures required. This would eliminate the need for large amounts of space, and has a fast load time over the net. When building, you could make your own stuff (seperate object builder), or use prefabricated objects. This in turn would make the very small script for it, and everytime it was updated, a copy would be sent to the server (if YOU werent always online). I think that is an asome idea. I was thinking the same thing but if you do that then they would start regulating everything elsa and you dont want that.

Internet 2 is out, its out as http2:// and hosts few companies.
Mostly for people who cant afford a domain, and want a nice redirect.

If you start small you''ll never get anywhere. People would leave before I could get anywhere with everything.

It needs to be WOW and all finished before it comes out. Implementing the engine and all after its released would just be annoyingly...annoying.

Stupid idea. 3D browsing?? It''s easier and faster to scroll a page and click a 2D image on a webpage than trying to find something in the 3D world. 3D internet stuff has been done. There are several 3D bowsers out there already. Plus, your idea has absolutely no advantage over current internet.
