I''ve programmed mostly data manipulation stuff for the last few years and I''d like to learn 3D stuff. I''ve done some SDL stuff, and mode 13h back in the day. What''s the best way to get into 3D? Nehe''s tutorials? Modding? Books? Something else? Thanks.

i guess a good book about opengl to understand all the basics of 3d and later on its your decision if you want to stick with opengl or change to d3d for advanced stuff. but if youre lucky opengl2.0 will be here until then, making it a little less annoying with dozens of vendor specific extensions

GameDev has some good tutorials, and flipcode (www.flipcode.com) has a series called ''The Art of Demo Making'' which can get you started as well.

Most people on here seem to use OpenGL, but you can write everything from scratch. It''s not that hard once you get the basic structures down and are comfortable with some rather strange ideas.

Good luck,
Will
