GTKRadiant Setup for custom game HELP
hello
we recently decided to use GTK radiant to create maps for out game since it supports TGA textures
the problem is there s no documentation on how to setup GTKRadiant for non QUAKE engine games
and those i have found are unavailable
so does anyone know how to setup radiant for my engine?
thx in advance
- make a pk3 file of your textures
- make the .shader file (write a program to scan all your folders and make this file)
- import and load pk3
It works fine with me
Note: GtkRadiant can''t be used for commercial products other then the ones from ID software (my game will be free, as in free beer, so no commercial stuff).

but you can license it
and your solution won t help cause you have to mess around with the .game files and so on

I did nót change any .game files, I only made my own shaderlist files like one would do for a quake mod.
Did you check the price of the Quake3 license? No?! That''s 250.000 frikkin dollars man! I''d rather make my game freeware. Or can you license GtkRadiant seperately? If so: how?
I know, it says free for non-commercial use. But what do they mean with non-commercial use? My application is totally freely distributable, so I guess I'm allowed to use GtkRadiant.

i think they mention to work out licenses for the individual
so you don t need to pay for the engines
so you don t need to pay for the engines
I''ve asked the cost of a GtkRadiant license. They answered:
I réally need to find a sponsor if I want to commercialize my game later on :O

well you can create a demo copyright it
send it to a games magazine to get the gamers opinion
if it s positiv enough you could risk a few bucks and get the license from ID

Or, the more traditional approach:
Create a demo, (copyright it)
Show it to a bunch of publishers till they give you money
License the tool from ID
