Hello, You might remember me. I am a newb and still wandering with nowhere to start game-programming. Any suggestion. And yes I did check the For Begginer section... BattleGuard Courage is no lack of fear, it is the will to act in spite of it

First step. Get and learn C++. If you already have it, go to
http://www.cprogramming.com/

If you know C++ well, learn DX. Simple as that.

That''s funny.

I suggest VB because it is easier to understand as a beginner.

Not quite... You have to choose which api''s you''ll use for what, and what platforms you''ll target before choosing DirectX.

I will teach you what I know in game programming, if you can teach me 3DS Max or TrueSpace. I would like to collaberate with an artist in the future.

Hey, Thanx for all the replies. I tried a lot of resources but I would rather learn VC++ .net than simple C++. And yes I do know VB .net. So could you tell me something based on that?????I like your offer PhilVaz, sure I''ll teach you the basics of what I know in 3ds max 5.1. Can you teach me game programming. Sorry to tell you, but I really do not know a thing about C or C++ or any other heredity...

C++ .NET isn''t exactly used for many games, I don''t think. What''s wrong with unmanaged C++?

With C++ .net I am used to the framework and IDE. And I work with 3ds max and DirectX SDK, so It''s a perfect match. And .net is the most advanced till now... I think

Do you actually use the fancy .NET stuff, or just the .NET compiler?
