copy the contents of a ddraw surface into a bitmap buffer
Hi,
Currently trying to write a function to copy the contents of a directdraw surface, and save it as a bitmap for viewing (I''m a bit worried that i mightn''t be copying correctly onto the surface to start with)
Anyway, i would post the code, but I forgot it this morning - dooh! But basically I''m creating the everything, but the actual image buffer correctly (i.e. BITMAPFILEHEADER, BITMAPINFOHEADER, & PALETTE r created grand) whenever I try to populate the image buffer - it crashes out.
So was wondering if anyone had any advise/code to copy the contents of a directdraw surface into the bitmap buffer. (i suppose any sort of buffer would do.....)
Also, I''m aware that in reading a bitmap, u gotta be aware of the padding at the end of each row. Well I was also wondering when creating/saving a bitmap, is this padding adding in automatically, or is something the code has to do to save the file correctly?
Cheers in advance,
Bazz
