Biped Clip Creation in 3DS Max

Hello, I''m attempting to put together a set of one step biped motions for mixing in a Character Studio crowd sim. I would like to set up a longish footstep animation with turns, stops, etc., and then save out short ranges of frames as biped clips. The save command seems to offer a save range option but when I use it I get the whole animation, not just the frames I want. If anyone knows how to use the save range function in CS''s biped motion rollout or has a better way of producing a set of fine grained motions for crowd simulation please let me know. Thanks, 3CM
