blittin' a direct draw surface using source color keyin

a big big question for me.... is blittin'' a direct draw surface on another using source color key actually time consuming??? it''s damn slow when i wanna move like 15 armiy unit (of size 80 to 60 pixels each) on the screen(800*600) using source color key

It should not be slow while ddraw blt operations from video memory allocated surfaces are quite fast according to the 2d acceleration available on almost all cards.

That''s exactly the error everyone is doing. DO NOT USE HARDWARE ACCELERATION WITH DIRECTDRAW! It''s badly supported and very slow.
If you want to avoid these 2 major problems:

- Speed issues
- ColorKeying + Stretching issues

Then just initialize DirectDrawCreateEx in emulation mode. Do it. It''s the way ddraw works best.
