Direct Draw & D3DX in the same program

Hello, I am in the process of writing an ap that on startup determines wether it will be using D3DX or Direct Draw as it''s primary method of rasterization, I''ve figured out the logistics of how it will work, but most of my classes / structures / etc, explicitely use LPDIRECTDRAWSURFACE, or LPDIRECT3DTEXTURE8 for their surfaces. The problem is that while I can simply make a constant (IMAGSURF or whatever), or some sort of blanket variable to handle it inside my classes, etc. . there''s no way to change IMAGSURF from defining the d3dx type surface, or the dd surface. Anyone have any ideas? or even if there''s an easier way to do it? (like some easy conversion between LPDDS and LPD3DT) ? -F.
