Getting the frames from Skinned Mesh

I have a little problem, i''m doing a game with a walking character but i wonder how i can control the movement of him, the skinned mesh example from the dx9 sdk uses fElapsed time to make the animation move but how can access exactly what frame to play when because i want the character to finish his walk cycle when the user releases the "walk" button. So the animation should proceed until frame==0 but i can''t figure out where i the variable of the current frame is... anyone?

controller->SetTime(time);

the (time) variable is exactly the one that you should change
if you have your x file 30 FPS then every frame is 0.0333 long

so if you want the 5th frame then time=0.03333*5

and if you want the 30th frame then time=0.03333*30 = 1(second)
