ok, just am about finished with my Visual Basic 6.0 book (chp 8 out of 11 chp''s) but when I leave the book and go make one of my own programs I keep seeming to forget somestuff and so I have to go back to the book and find it again. Would you guys consider this back tracking or is this normal? thanks, Yogurt

Just a guess, but it's probably normal. One would think that it's impossible to remember every single thing you learned. Just keep that book on a bookshelf and use it as a reference when you get stuck.

(This is comming from a newbie to programming, btw.)

This is fine.. don''t worry about it... concentrate on what CAN be done you will start to remember specific syntax as you use things more and more... I have been programming for years now and I still need to look things up all the time!

The only person I know who never has to look things up was a mechanical engineer at the age of 19 who in 1 year managed to learn everything I had learned since I got my first computer when I was 5
