NeHe World 3

Hi, I''ve seen NeHe''s world (version 3) - updated in 2000 and i''d simply like to know if creating such open areas is done by simply putting a lot of primitives together or is there a way of doing things that could be more *professional* ?

i think in the case of creating a scene like "nehe-world 3" you dont have to do very much "professional work", but if you want to expand it to a quake like level, you''ll have to do more than sticking some triangles together...
