I just wan't to announce that I uploaded new version of my RacingTREME 3d racing game to my account. Site: Click here to site Zip: Click here for direct download (4.3 MB) I have improved the game engine everywhere a bit. Now openal sound, truetype fonts with freetype2 (chekc app.ini for correct font path), with gui, imporoved track geometry and and car physics. Controls: Steer: left, right Accelerate-brake: up,down Gear up/down: A,Z Camera: enter There's now one car and two track. Maybe better trying the PaaPuuWhatewer track, because car handling is not very good at higher speed yet. Hopy you enjoy driving! I hope to get some feedback if you like it or not! And here's the README:

Before you try RacingTREME you must agree that you do it at your own risk (this is not to scare you away).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RacingTREME is simple racing game.
Now the demo allows just to drive one car around some circuits. I don't have time
to the tracks and cars, because I am programmer. My aim is to add network
multiplayer support and ai players sometimes too.

Controls:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steer: Left, Right
Accelerate: Up
Brake: down
Shift Up: A
Shift Down: Z
ENTER: Change camera view

Joystick control not yet enabled.

Problems/Questions:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Can't see any text in game?
In app.ini edit following section:

[App]
FontPath = C:\WINDOWS\FONTS\ARIaL.TTF ; Change this path to an existing font.

2. Very slow fps on decent PC?
Requires graphics card with OpenGL drivers for hardware acceleration.

Modifying tracks/cars:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Check data/tracks and data/cars folders, there you can modify some parameters.
I have nothing yet documented but some of it is very self explaining, easy to read text files.

Sorry for false controls. I have changed gear shifting to S (down) and D (up)

Very nice!

Some ideas for improvements:

* One of your gears is the reverse. Personally I find that very confusing, because I need to press the up arrow, while in the reverse gear.

* Acceleration could be faster

* I''m not sure if the physics is right yet. You probably need to play with some settings, because at the moment the car starts to spin very easilly. It is like driving on oil, or like driving a speedboat.

* I think the game will look a lot better if you add a skybox.

Well, isn''t this the way it works? You dont go backwards with car by pressing brake. Maybe arcade mode could have what you suggested, but I don''t plan doing arcade mode in this game.

Yeah, yeah, I know

I''v noticed this. I need better suspension system and tyre physics, already something planned. Everything is yet very simple.
However, I don''t like driving car that goes like a rain on trails

Yep, next version will hopefully have it.

Thanks for the feedback!! It''s goot to know what are the most imporetant areas to focus on

I updated physics, now there''s anti-roll-bars, bumb, rebound and more realistic wheel physics. Much nicer imo, and turns better.

I really don''t have nothing against it if someone still gives some feedback

Looks good so far. I like the physics which make it impossible to spin

Some bumbs on track but I''m sure you will improve them. Keep up the good work!
