I''m writing a program that reads the contents of a data directory and the contents of all directories in it. My question is: How do I get a list of all the files and directories in them? I''m using c++ in linux and windows incase the methods differ for each OS. I just get returned a big list of files and directories, is there a way to distinguish one from the other? Thanks /*Joe DiMichele C/C++/VB Programmer, A+ Certified Technician AIM:Krawling Khaos, ICQ:332871787 joedimichele@hotmail.com oderint dum metuant Excuse my spelling, programmers can''t spel*/

Since n00bs don''t STFW, we need an FAQ for stuff like this...
opendir / readdir and FindFirstFile / FindNextFile

Don''t be so quick to give a put-down, there are plenty of game developers on this board for that. I did google it, however I must of gone to all the wrong sites as I found nothing. Also, I''m pretty far from a n00b, I''ve been programming a long time, just have never come across a situation where these particular commands were needed.

BTW, thanks for the help
