Hey all, I''m trying to use glutGameMode in order to create a fullscreen application. However, I''m having a hard time finding two things: 1) How can I poll the system to find out what modes are possible (so far nothing I give it works)? 2) Where can I find documentation for the Game Mode? I''m working on a RedHat 9 system, so using DX isn''t an option. Thanks.

There isn''t really a document, you''ll have to look at source code.

If DirectX isn''t an option, you can use SDL or mxWindows.

Or do you mean Direct3d?

I meant DirectX in I want something else to initiate the windows and other controls. I''d like to keep it platform neutral. Glut, I feel, is the best option for this (I could be wrong).

GLUT may not be the best way, but it is the easiest way.

both SDL and wxWindows does linux and OpenGL, as well as windows.

I like SDL a little better than GLUT, even if SDL it isn't as user friendly. SDL also has things GLUT doesn't, like sound, and some joystick support. It has add on libraries for mp3's, images, and networking. Its documentation is about the same, its just newer than GLUT'S documentation.

Of course, you should check it out before you decide, thats why I've given ya links
