capturing gameplay

Yes, such programs exist, but they''re no very good.

Anything that captures video footage in real-time is going to be either really slow, or at a really small resolution. Not to mention, it will most likely be in 8bpp so it won''t look too nice.

If this is for a game you have made, you should just dump a recorded gameplay sequence to image files one frame at a time

You can make them into an AVI afterwards.
