I have tried the plugin available at effectware.com and polytrans to output my 3ds max models to directx file format. both of them suck up in one way or the other. i guess i have wasted my precious bucks on buying PolyTrans cuz it SUX. Polytrans does not export Hierarchical Link Data while the plugin at Effectware.com gives it a pitch of 90degs and exports it. Conv3ds-Forget about it! is there any other better plugin available?? Please let me know if u r using any other program. Please help, thnx if any body has a plug it would be great if u could e-mail it to - sandeep_kl@mailcity.com The only way around it is Through it!! That''s the best one I''ve found....actually it''s the only plugin I''ve found. It''s pretty bad just because it rotates the object.

It''s not a plugin, but it can convert from 3ds to x file format: conv3ds is included in the DirectX 7 SDK. However, i had some problems with it. 3Dto3D works better for me.
