Yes I need to find somebody has used the zlib\minizip and knows about the pentiumpro optimized assembly version of some of the functions(can be found in the contrib directory of the unzipped zlib.´Cause I need a already compiled version(compiled with the assembly file) of the zlib.lib for MSVC++5.Unfortunately one needs the gnu-assembler to compile it,which I don´t have.So if somebody has compiled the lib with the assembly files, please tell me or mail it to me. P.s.I even mailed the authors about this one,but the didn´t answer....Hmmm,who compiles something for some strange "XBTC" who mails you with a stupid question....) Thanx in advance,XBTC!

Look at http://www.winimage.com/zLibDll/ - the precompiled dll used to contain a CPU identifier, and then use the optimised search code, or default C implementation. I think. To be honest, I didn''t notice much difference on my PII 400.
