The Smithsonian Institution is looking for a few good (well, at least one) games developers to partner up in creating sophisticated educational games, including historically accurate Pony Express and Wells Fargo stagecoach games for the National Postal Museum and even an educational "Evolve or Die" Sim-Cenozoic with the Paleontology Department of the National Museum of Natural History. This need has been publicly posted for some time on FedBizOpps.gov, but believing it unlikely that the games community visits this federally-maintained site, the Institution is attempting a targeted announcement. The Smithsonian is willing to work with the developer, provide content/review and approval, educational direction, branding, and marketing through promotion over Smithsonian website(s). Though lacking money to directly offset development risk, the Smithsonian would welcome participation of sponsors and/or investors and is comfortable with an ROI model for full developer recoupment plus profit. If you think you might be interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact Bruce Falk, Contract Negotiator-Attorney, Smithsonian Institution, Office of Contracting, Victor Building, 750 9th Street, NW, Ste. 6200, Washington, DC 20560-0907,(202) 275-1602 [tel.], (202) 275-0624 (fax), FalkB@si.edu
