Advanced Animation with DirectX Book

Hi, I''m just wondering if there is anyone who has this book and can tell me if it deals with DirectX 9 or 8? Any other information about what the book is like (and covers) would be good too. Thanks

I have the book. It deals with both. There aren''t many differences in the coding style between DX8 and 9 and the book mentions both of them in it.

I have Jim''s other book (the role playing games one) and it covers skinned mesh animation using DirectX 8. I would like to do it in DirectX 9, but there seems to be a number of changes in this department that I can''t figure out. So I was wondering if the source code in his new book (the advanced animation one) covers skinned mesh animation in DirectX 9?
