Windows controls with DirectDraw??

I''m using directdraw for my 2D Map Editor I am currently writing, and I just want to know if there''s any way to use windows controls (message boxes, child windows etc..) in a fullscreen directdraw application. Is this possible? If it''s not then I''ll have to write my own message boxes and controls right?? (I know my problem will be solved if I use windowed mode, but that''s not what I want to do) Any suggestions?

Hmm, but isn''t non-exclusive mode windowed mode?
Is it possible to run in non-exclusive mode in fullscreen?

Yes you can do this... there was a sample program in the DirectX 7 SDK I believe on how to do GDI controls on DirectDraw surfaces. Just look that up and you should be set.
