support for multiple vertex formats

currently i have a "texturebatch" which is a bunch of vertices with indices a material and texture for these polys. Now, my problem is, i have created this class to hold a vertex type of "standard_vertex" and a "standard_fvf", now the problem is i want to make a "texturebatch" with another vertex format. The only way i can see of getting around this is to make my textureBatch a template.
