hi, simple question.. im making a bsp tree program.. and just wondering whether its worth me having a colour compnent for each vertex of every polygon. eg each vertex contains 4 floats (r,g,b,a) and each polygon contains n number of vertices. is it worth processing this colour data. or is vertex colouring a waste of processing/rendering time in a bsp app? (bsp has texturing and per pixel lighting) cheers in advance, hybrid

Well, if you''re using textures and per-pixel lighting, then vertex colours are redundant, from a purely world-rendering point of view. However, vertex colours could be useful if you want to dynamically light characters or objects in the scene, by comparing the nearest vertex in the world to the character, and using the stored colour as lighting information. Just a thought, and now that I''ve had it, I might look into it myself :D
