Fog question

Is it possible to have both volumetric fog and and normal ''depth-effect'' fog in scene at once?? I''m drawing my terrain as vertex arrays with glFogCoordPointerEXT() to give the fog depth for each vertex (gives a decent early-morning effect!!). How can I use ''normal'' fogging with this? i.e. to fade in/out geometry near to the far clipping plane? Is it even possible?? Thanks for reading.
