Quick c/c++ question

Im fairly fluent in c++ and i wanted to do some c, if i name a file .c and open it in vc++ 6 and compile will it follow the C rules or the C++ rules. thanks, I want it to follow the C rules if there is something i have to set, settings wise.

VC++ 6.0 will determine the language based on the file extension if you don''t specify otherwise. So yes, naming a file .c will make VC++ 6.0 use the C standard. You test it by using a C++ only feature in a C file (eg. default arguments).
