color3f doesn't appear to work with gllists?

It appears that calling color3f during a list creation has no effect when the list is called back later, unless I am doing something wrong. Is this true? Thanks.

Maybe you enable lighting before you call the displaylist? or you have an active texture, and an textureenvironment that doenst take the color in account
