What is texture management? Does it load the textures needed into video memory by using some kind of recently used algorithm, or are all textures always in video memory?? Is Direct3D texture management good enough or should I write my own??? Any help would be appreciated.

Direct 3D Texture Managment loads Textures needed for rendering, by moving them from system-memmory to video-memmory, and unloads them, by moving them from video-memmory to system-memmory.

Direct3D decides intelligently which textures are currently needed and which are not.

I think you surely can use it in your Apps, you will not be able to write an algho which does it better than theres I think.
