Does anyone have a simple 3D engine template? One that has the algorithms for texture mapping, lighting and specularity. maybe even with comments? Or just a good discription of the algorithms would do. Thanks

I use the one on the DirectX SDK. Just link your project to:
d3dim.lib d3dx.lib ddraw.lib dxguid.lib

Check out Genesis3D - a fully completed very functional 3D engine. You have to use the api calls provided by Genesis3D, but the whole thing is fairly easy to use.

If you want to check out the newest version of Genesis3D, now called the Game Driver, check out http://www.wildtangent.com and click on Developer info.

Check out www.hornet.org under code. There may be some simple 3d engines if i remember correctly. If you really want I could send you the code of my extremely simple engine, but I haven''t even added a camera . I''ll see what I can dig up on my harddrive if you''re really interested. Give me an e-mail - jeffkistler@hotmail.com.

Go to this webpage and it will show you more 3d engines then you can possibly ever use
http://cg.cs.tu-berlin.de/~ki/engines.html

BTW I have just started programming in 3d and I am using Panard Vision which is a good 3d engine.
