Character Studio in Games???

how do i export a max file with biped animations to an XFile?? (the 3ds export screws up royally). The only way around it is Through it!!

It depends on how you''re doing it. If you have a bunch of body parts that are LINKED to a biped, and the biped animation is moving the body parts, then it''s possible.

If you have physiqued the body to the biped, then it is using skeletal deformations, which isn''t supported by the X format.

You''ll need to create your own format, figure out how to load it, and figure out how to animation the vertices using that information. Pretty brutal stuff.

If you want to look at source code on how its done, take a look at Genesis3D which is an open source 3D engine that lets you export Character Studio physiqued models and animations to a special file format. The engine can then load that file format, and animate the character appropriately. Copying and pasting from the Genesis source code is against the user license though.
