[repost from WIGD - Women in Game Development - mailing list ] --------------------------------------------------------------- We''ve decided to re-open the VDT project to new volunteers, so if you''d like to help out (or know someone who does), go to http://glcollective.net/account/register.php At the current time, we need about 4 people on Art and 3 on Sound/Music. I recently read an article by Noah Falstein (from 1999) and it described a Master/Apprentice relationship on a project where all of the key team members were in that role for the first time. I didn''t find it on-line so I don''t have a link. I think VDT (Virtual Development Team) is a very similar concept. We have people with experience who are going to lead the different sections or serve as advisors. The sections are composed of rookies who want experience in a development setting. As for time commitment - The project needs be completed in 1 - 3 months. It''s open source and not for profit. There''s an added stipulation that the game should be geared toward attracting women or girls into the industry (since the VDT is an offshoot of the WIGD list). The homepage is: http://wigdvdt.glcollective.net/cgi-bin/twiki/view/VDT/WebHome
