Compiled sprites

Does anyone know whether compiled sprites are any faster than colour keyed Blts. I mean, you''d think it was faster because you wouldn''t have to check each time and you could do each one in ASM to make it nice and fast... Well I was just wondering you see. ------------------------------ #pragma twice

Yeah, compiled sprites are probably faster - but if so, not by much. Colorkeyed blits are performed by hardware (every graphics card made in the last 3 years has it in hardware) and therefore they''re fast.

Keep in mind, (if you didn''t know already) that compiled sprites can''t be clipped - or at least those examples that I''ve seen haven''t at least.

Yes, well of course they can''t be clipped. So they will be faster right? Good.
