I was wondering how skins are being made in programs like winamp. not how to make your own skins, but how to make a program that uses skins. (how skins work)
Thanks
Ugh, I hate to be inflammatory, but this is my pet peeve.
I wish more apps looked standard. I feel very few apps can actually benefit from skins.

In my opinion, being able to skin apps was more important before windows XP when the "default skin" was rather unattractive. With a better default, and greater support for skinning in the OS, there''s much less need for application specific skinning. I can still see it being useful in, say, a game, where you''re using a non-standard UI anyway.
Skinning doesn''t get in the way if you ignore it, but I do ask that by default you use the system''s default skin.
