ways to make FPS a.i. better

well, I have been involved in some pretty great conversations about a.i., but i wanted to begin discussing ways of making a.i. better for fps games, as that seems to be in question. I was thinking about talking of what fps a.i. already has and then discussing ways to make it better, and idea''s never considered. right now, a.i. seems to be mostly scripted in actions and retarded in fighting. Some people use waypoints set in the map to make the enemies appear more life-like and tactical. I believe unreal tournament 2003 has the ability to set certain things up for the a.i. so it knows when to jump, where to hide, where to go, and that sort of thing. How do you think fps a.i. can be made to seem more life-like and smart? share your thoughts here "you can''''t understand some thing you can''''t create."

i think that we have to look around and to our own past on earth,think in the evolution,every micro organisms (very stupids at all) survived to the hardest conditions because what?because the only way that they want to go are (life).we are taking the wrong way,we want our bots to have artificial inteligence but,if we didn''t give him life vision...
i think that we have to do some kind of stupid bot with life-like and let him do the tactics to survive. instead of a script basead on reactions to the player tactics and actions we should make a script based on reactions to own bot deads. then he can run away from death and think in other forms to survive.
