We are building an application that plays wave files. Everything works fine if we have the Visual Studio development environment open and run our program, however, if we close Visual Studio and run the application we can no longer hear the sound play. Does anybody know why it would do this and how we can fix it. Thanks, Andrew

how are you playing you wavs? i.e directx api, fmod any of the other sound api's? with something like fmod you will need to include the fmod.dll within the release foulder so that the exe is in the same directory as the dll, maybe thats the problem?

Running the program in Visual Studio doesn''t necessarily mean that you''re running the program from the same path it''s really in.
ie. You might be running it in
while the actual .exe is in
If your music+dll files are in .../myProgram/ then you can see how that would screw things up.

If that''s not it, I dunno.
