Sticking a 3D model in OpenGl code.
How would i stick a 3d object (created with 3d studio Max)
in to my opengl code?
Where could i find some sample code that does this?
What kind of file would I save the 3d model as?
There are a couple of programs that convert 3DS files straight to openGL code. I don''t think that''s the best way to do things, however. Export the thing to an .ase file and take things from there. If you need help with text file parsing, nate''s programming page has an example program on loading them. In my demo I have an ase loader that works with multiple objects in a scene that I programmed a little while ago. It''s pretty similar to the one that you''ll see on the link above.
