Hello all, Kind of new to this (just registered but been looking at the site for ages) and I have a few questions. I have been playing with OpenGL for a while now and have got the basics nailed down like I can draw basic objects tex map them use fog and move around but I am a bit stuck as to how to proceed so here goes: 1. I have knocked up a reasonable terrain engine utilising an interesting ROAM method to keep the performance up, but the source for the terrain is huge and I need a way to use the data from it but apply some sort of fractal generation in between the predetermined data on the fly - ideas? 2. How the hell do I make my win32 apps use SMP more efficiently as I have a spare processor not doing much 3. This terrain engine is using a 16mb height map of the surface of mars as a source, and I was hoping to be able to model this so that I can treat it actually as a planet i.e. spherical and not planar and go into ''orbit'' and see the curvature etc. Anyone got any ideas? Hope someone can help! "..If we built a large wooden Badger....." Monty Python - The Holy Grail
