prediction systems

I am looking fro docs on creating prediction systems with user implementation of Reliable Datagram Protocol, etc... Just want to know how things are organized in fast-action games (I mean playing via internet. Coding for a lan is much easier). Those featured here on this site are almost useless, because they only cover general topics, but I''m looking for a more in-depth docs, implementation examples, etc... Quake sources are good, but i want more ))
