Does anyone know of an API that can convert bitmap images to AVI format, as in sprites and the like? I found nothing on Google that was pertinent. [edited by - light-nexus on August 5, 2003 6:26:14 PM]

I don''t know of a specfic algorithm, but an open source video editor has that capability. Its called Virtual Dub.

Are you talking about taking a series of frames, all the same size and all in BMP format, and stitching them together into an AVI, or animating using "cels" in BMP format which are moved around in the frame?

How appropriate. You fight like a cow.
That is correct. I am basically writing a "sprite converter". My sprites are saved as a single bitmap...the images being in sequence stored from left to right. I don''t have experience with .avi files, but my current project requires them.

I saw on MSDN the AVI API, but I''m not sure where to begin.

I will also look into Virtual Dub.
