I would like to start learning to write some window''s applications. The only problem is I have MSVC++ 6 right now, and all that has is MFC. I hate MFC; I could never understand it. I''m looking to update my compiler to MSVC++ 2k3, and was wondering has .NET made application programming in any easier (or clearer) than before? Also can anyone recommend a good book to couple with my compiler purchase? I''m going out of town tommorrow, and it''s the only time I will be in an area with a software store. P.S. It is 8PM here, and I''d like to get a good recommendation before I leave. Thanks
