Hello, From my understanding, I''ve to disable depth test and sort the sprites based on the z distance before rendering them. Is it possible to render them correctly without sorting? Because my model contains sprites and I don''t want to sort all polygons... Thanks.

You only have to sort the polygons that are in the view frustum, which should not be a huge number. Otherwise you will be spending more time drawing than sorting anyway.

Thanks. Hopes the frame rate won't drop much

You also don''t need to do sorting if you do only additive blending or only subtractive blending or only multiplicative blending.

And you don''t need to disable depth testing and sort the polygons if you use alpha testing instead of alpha blending for your sprites.

Geezzz. I really hope that NeHe changes his masking tutorial to include aplha testing as another option. I can''t remember the amount of times i''ve written a similar reply to this one.
