Orthographic Lighting?

I just recently started OpenGL and I was trying to do a basic tile game in ortho projection with a spotlight on the ceter of the screen but the lighting doesn''t seem to be working I can''t figure out what is wrong and started wondering... Does lighting work in Ortho or should I switch to perspective?

Lighting should be done in world space, the projection should not have any influence on that. What exactly does "doesn''t work" mean?

Is lighting enabled?

Is your geometry tessalated enough to notice the lighting if its there? (my guess is no, because you tend to use big rects in ortho). Remember lighting is per vertex, not per pixel.
