Texture size for tiles

Hello all. I'm curious what size of textures people use for their tiles. I'm currently using 64x64 and I was wonder everone else uses and if there are any advantages to diffrent sizes other then the obvious, being storage factor? The only one I could think of was, tile randomization, For instance if the texture for dirt has 4 diffrent tiles on it. Then I could assign diffrent tiles diffrent parts of same texture creating a more varried look to the dirt. I'm using openGL, Don't think that important but thought I'd mention it just incase. ----------------------------------------------------- Writer, Programer, Cook, I'm a Jack of all Trades Current Design project Chaos Factor Design Document [edited by - TechnoGoth on August 7, 2003 9:04:13 PM]

I got 64*64 tiles too...
How appropriate, you fight like a cow!
I''m using a screen resolution of 640x480. Most tiles are 32x32 with background tiles being 256x256.

Good luck with your project.
64x64 at 800x600 resolution.
