Visualizations in OGL

Hi I am trying to generate MediaPlayer style Visualizations using OpenGl, which will eventually be run alongside a full-screen mp3 player.. I believe the technique for doing this is called ''Image Feedback'', and I got the basic algorithm from "Special Effects Game Programming with DirectX" (McCuskey), and can''t help but feel he''s left a couple of small details out.. I tried googling for this and searching on these forums but nothing (maybe I have the wrong technique, not sure).. Just wondering if anyone else has accomplished such a task and could give me a few pointers as to how I should be going about this in OpenGL? Thanks a lot
