Sublime soft shadows

I'm working on 2d game graphics and trying to get some accurate soft shadows cast from the objects in the scene. Progress is pleasing, but i'm hitting annoying special cases with adding the soft edges. While hunting around to see if anyone else had covered something similar (doesn't look like it it seems, everyones switched to 3d ) I found this doc: Soft shadows via penumbra wedges. I'd not come across this before, so i just thought others might like to read it. although i don't think 2d generation of penumbra is 'trivial', dealing with large light source vs. small occulder is driving me crazy [edited by - OrangyTang on August 9, 2003 3:13:36 PM]
