I was wondering if anyone knew of any good, free source control system that can be used to share project over the internet? I''ve taken a look at FreeVCS which looks okay but there are definately a few things I dislike. I know CVS is widely used with sucess, but I don''t like that there''s no GUI or IDE intergration avaliable. Thanks, Dan

There''s plenty of integration available for CVS. What IDE are you using?

How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Well that''s cool. We''re using MS Visual Studio 6.

I don''t even need IDE integration. I would really just like GUI client.

BTW, Is CVS difficult to setup?

See Subversion. For GUI, you can choose between RapidSVN, TortoiseSVN or the project in my signature.

Hmmm...It looks like an interesting project. However, I don''t see that you can set up the server on windows. Also there aren''t any precompiled binaries.

I would really like something light weight and fairly easy to setup. Unfortunately, I don''t have much experience with Linux and I don''t want to go through the steps of compiling to source of the software I''m using.

Looks like you didn''t notice the "Distributions" link on that page.

http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/serverinstall.html. I''ve been running the server on Windows for over a year now.

http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=91. Your choice between a zip with just the binaries or an installer.
