There are various decompilers out there, but none of them produce complete and compileable source.

Most of them just spit out lot''s of gunk.

Possible? Yes. But not likely. There is a one to one relationship between machine instructions in an executable and assembly code, so converting to assembly is actually quite easy. Taking that assembly and producing meaningful C++ (or any HLL) code, however, is an exercise in futility.

there are not real good decompilers out there - look at www.programmerstools.org - there are disassemblers like w32dasm or IDA - take a look at them, but don''t spend your time on searching a fancy c decompiler
