Your thoughts on 2D vs 3D

Hello, I''ve been messing with game developement for about 2 years now, off and on and I would like some feedback on my projects. please visit www.crowsoft.net and try all the demos. I want to put some more effert into my projects but was wondering which way to go. 2D, 3D or throw in the towel. Please post back your finding. Thanks, -CROW

I say a game with nice 2D graphics is a lot better than a game with crappy 3D ones.

oh yeah, well I say that a game with nice 3d graphics is a lot better then a game with crappy 2d graphics.

wait make that, a game with nice graphics is better then a game with crappy graphics (assuming gameplay doesnt factor in here)

Most playable 3d games reduce the interaction into two dimensions at a time and only force you to use the third dimension as a challenge point.

e.g. who /didn''t/ always turn the camera in Mario64 to keep it playing like a 2d platformer?
