Hi, I have 2 identical objects, but one''s world matrix has been scaled by 2, therefore the object is twice as large. However the larger object also seems to be half as bright as the smaller one. This, understandably is very annoying, and I have found no way to fix it, can anyone help? thanks Yratelev

The normals are being scaled by the transform as well and this throws off the lighting. (Normals actually scaled by the inverse-transpose of the matrix which is why a scale > 1 causes the normals to be scaled down and the resulting lighting to dim. Scaling down makes the lighting brighter.)

The solution is to set D3DRS_NORMALIZENORMALS to TRUE.
