I am new to game programming. Actually I looked through all the relevant posts about windowed mode but I didn''t find any post which really talked about how to set up a game program to run in a windowed mode. By the way, I am using Direct X to program the game, no MFC, no OpenGL, no GDI. Please help me! Thanks in advance.

Why would you be using DirectX7?

In any event, I gave you a link to the documentation. You could easily look it up for yourself. If you /had/ taken the link I provided, you would have seen that d3dpp is:

D3DPRESENT_PARAMETERS d3dpp;

Look in your DirectX7 documentation for something equivalent. It has a tutorial in it.
