trouble with ID3DXSprite

I used ID3DXSprite but it only works fine on a REF device. If i try to use hardware rendering , the Draw functin of the interface instead of taking the portion of the texture that i specified in the second parameter , it takes a randomly selected potion of the texture. -the version of Directx is 8.1 (i mention - just in case - that i have a geforce2MX/MX400 video card so it can't be a facility that is not implemented in hardware) if you know , please answer , i'm very mixed up. Link with the Debug version of D3DX. Any interesting output in the debug window?

try another driver
maybe that come from a bad hardware detection
