Whenever I try to connect to the internet in Mandrake it says "Sorry, Modem does not respond", is there any way I can fix this? And also, when I installed it my modem showed up, so that means that it works with Mandrake right?

I really don''t know enough yet to be of much help but lets see if I can be of some help

What kind of Modem do you have?

Where is the modem located (what com port? not sure what other information is needed).

Anyway see if you can query the modem from ah.. um, perhaps minicom?

If you can get the modem to talk to you there then (in premis) yes it will work with Mandrake.

If not perhaps you need drivers or more probably it needs to be told to load the aproperate part (modprobe ... something I believe)

When in double google.com/linux and do some searches.

Keep in mind I may not(and probably don''t) have a clue, heh.
